Two Communities One Mission

The Church

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church was founded in 1909, and we have worshipped in our present location on East 16th Street in Upland since 1965. The Rev. Keith Yamamoto is the sixteenth Rector to serve at St. Mark’s since its founding. Today we are two communities in one Parish: the Church, and the Preschool.

Regular worship services are held at 8am and 10am on Sunday mornings. During school terms, there is a Morning Prayer service every weekday, except for Wednesdays when there is Holy Eucharist. These services begin at 8:15am each morning in the church. All are welcome to attend.

Our Parish is part of the Diocese of Los Angeles. The Right Rev. Jon Bruno is our Bishop Diocesan. The Episcopal Church in the United States, a member of the Worldwide Anglican Communion, is headed by The Most Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop.

The Preschool

St. Mark’s Preschool was founded as the Upland Community Preschool shortly after St. Mark’s moved to its current location on East 16th Street in Upland. From the beginning it has been regarded as an educational outreach to the community.

The school building completed in 1985 provided four new classrooms, kitchen, office, and a walled-in play yard. Parent involvement and support over the years have led to many successful improvements to the preschool environment.

Today the Preschool offers morning and afternoon sessions with a qualified and dedicated teaching staff.
