This year, the traditional Preschool Tricycle Rodeo was reimagined as the Saint Mark’s Speedway, giving a nod to our local California Speedway and NASCAR. The day dawned cloudy but soon gave way to blue skies and puffy white clouds. Pennants flew in the light breeze and the racers took to the track. Miss Carmen manned the checkered flags and served as the track official; Mr. Ravelli called the races as the children took off. Racers from each of the preschool three classes took four laps around the track as they were cheered-on by their parents and upperclassmen. Several spectators and participants were interviewed during the race; all agreed that the event was “awesome,” the atmosphere was “electric,” and they especially liked “winning”. The hungry racers were treated to a post-race picnic with turkey dogs and other healthy treats. We thank all who generously sponsored the riders with their tax deductible donations, helping to support the Annual Fund. A tremendous team of parents and staff pulled together to make this a great event for our children, and we thank them all for all they did to make this such a memorable event.
