Episcopal Tradition

Bringing together minds, bodies, and spirits

Saint Mark’s is an Episcopal community whose mission integrates spiritual formation into all aspects of the educational experience. Based on Anglican tradition, our students are taught to strive for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of every human being. Foremost to the Saint Mark’s experience is the appreciation of cultural, racial, socioeconomic and religious diversity.

Each school day begins with a chapel service, allowing time for the community to come together in reflection and song. Beginning in first grade, students take a leadership role in the service. Chapel is held four days a week; Eucharist is celebrated on Wednesdays.

Saint Mark’s celebrates the opening of school with Evensong, December includes Lessons and Carols and a special Christmas Eucharist, and the graduation ceremony is held in the context of a Eucharist. Parents are always welcome at chapel services.

Preschool chapel is held once a week in the little chapel on the west side of the church.
